Hollywood sugar enthusiasts and specialty coffee lovers alike are buzzing at the news that Carlos and Sarah Zuluaga, who grew Downtown Hollywood's The Little Sugars bakery from a storefront cafe to a national e-commerce online business, have opened Bean and Rose Craft Coffee House, named after the couple's daughters, at 2028 Harrison Street, Suite #101.
The Little Sugars will be the supplier of bakery items for Bean and Rose, explained Zuluaga, featuring the line’s star items including Chocolate Chip and other Cookies ($1.50+), Dutch Cocoa Brownies and Guava White Chocolate Chip Bars ($1.95), Cake and Pudding Jars (starting at $5.99), and a full range of cakes and pies. Savory snacks including sandwiches and toasts, such as Almond Butter, Banana and Honey, and Avocado and Pickled Onions with Everything Bagel Seasoning (starting $8.50), are also on the menu.
The focus at Bean and Rose Craft Coffee House, however, is on the specialty drinks and coffees. The signature drink is the Rose Latte, a beetroot blend cafe latte topped with cinnamon and rose petals. The shop will also offer a whole array of other drinks including fresh juices, specialty teas, matcha and Campfire S'mores Hot Chocolate.
In addition to the Bean and Rose Craft Coffee House cafe and retail shop in the front, the Harrison Street space houses The Little Sugars e-commerce operations and commercial kitchen in the back, along with Carlos' other business, the well-known Hollywood marketing firm, Lion Fuse media. He also hinted that Bean and Rose anticipates adding another outpost next month on Tyler Street.
True Hollywood entrepreneurs, the Zuluagas are excited to be back in a Downtown Hollywood storefront.
"We've been fortunate to have grown our brand to the point that we're being invited into new places in other spots around South Florida," said Carlos, "but we still choose to have a storefront here because we believe in Downtown Hollywood. We want to be part of everything that's going on here. Both Sarah and I have been business owners here for years, and although we're able to go just about anywhere else now, we still very much want to be in Downtown Hollywood."
To start, the Bean and Rose will be open seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. for dine-in, take-out, and delivery (hours may be adjusted going forward).
