Recognizing that entrepreneurial ventures and start-ups are significant sources of future growth for the City’s economy, the Office of Communications, Marketing and Economic Development (CMED) is actively supporting local entrepreneurs. CMED is now offering programs in entrepreneurship development through its new affiliation with Kauffman FastTrac®. Kauffman FastTrac® equips aspiring entrepreneurs with the business skills and insights, tools, resources, and peer networks necessary to start and grow successful businesses. This interactive, immersive course is designed to provide information, tips, exercises and tools to help participants think about their business idea strategically, and plan for success towards a business model that works.
Tuesday June 18th from 9:00 a.m. to noon: Start Your Business! The Intentional Entrepreneur is a workshop for aspiring entrepreneurs to help evaluate and assess their readiness for business ownership. Participants will learn how to:
- Assess entrepreneurial interest
- Align priorities with a vision
- Generate ideas and define business goals
- Identify action steps necessary to achieve business ownership

Tuesday June 27th from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.: Grow Your Business! Listening To Your Business a workshop for existing business owners/entrepreneurs to help evaluate and measure strategies. Participants will learn how to:
- Identify a strategic vision
- Determine an appropriate plan of action
- Prioritize and formalize transition steps
- Develop a transition plan to grow

Workshops to be held at Buro Hollywood, the new flexible office spaces in downtown Hollywood located at 2031 Harrison Street. Metered on-street and garage parking available.
