Recognizing that entrepreneurial ventures and start-ups are significant sources of future growth for the City’s economy, the Office of Communications, Marketing and Economic Development (CMED) has taken steps in supporting local entrepreneurs. CMED will offer programs in entrepreneurship development through its new affiliation with Kauffman FastTrac®. Kauffman FastTrac® equips aspiring entrepreneurs with the business skills and insights, tools, resources, and peer networks necessary to start and grow successful businesses. This interactive, immersive course is designed to provide information, tips, exercises and tools to help participants think about their business idea strategically, and plan for success towards a business model that works.
“We are excited by the possibilities this program brings to the City of Hollywood by way of educating, engaging and empowering our local entrepreneurs. The affiliation with the Kauffman Foundation is part of CMED’s ongoing effort to promote entrepreneurism throughout the City, and to provide Hollywood businesses with the tools necessary to succeed,” says City of Hollywood Economic Development Manager, Herb Conde-Parlato
The Kauffman Foundation, established over 40 years ago, is internationally recognized as one of the leading foundations for the promotion of entrepreneurism, and sponsors programs focused on urban, minority and woman entrepreneurship, global business development, and entrepreneur research, in addition to the FastTrac® Entrepreneur Development Program. FastTrac® offers a comprehensive set of resources to help start and grow successful businesses. The City will begin launching new programs in the coming months.
