Smart Growth Partnership (SGP) has awarded the City of Hollywood with the 2018 Smart Growth Excellence Award for the Regional Activity Center (RAC) Rezoning project. This award recognizes communities and projects that have successfully used the principles of smart growth to preserve and enhance quality of life while helping to protect public health and the environment.
The City Commission adopted RAC Rezoning in October 2016 as a way to inspire and promote mixed-sue corridors and neighborhoods and to encourage a wide range of housing and commercial opportunities and regional collaborations. The RAC Rezoning project will be recognized at the Smart Growth Partnership's Annual Event to be held this spring.
