Muzart Creative Arts Studios, a Downtown Hollywood institution serving children and their families since 2005, has a new larger location and new management.
New owners Bianca Fernandez Lopez and her husband Andres Lopez first became involved with Muzart 2-1/2 years ago when their son Noah, now 5, was enrolled in Muzart's Budding Artists Program. The Hollywood couple, who are also parents to 1-year-old Sienna, were drawn to the sense of community at Muzart and its offerings that include music, art and movement programs, private classes, workshops, events and exhibits.
Fernandez and Lopez reopened Muzart July 25 with a very successful three-week summer camp program at a larger location at 1955 Harrison Street, across the street from the former site. Previous owner/executive director Tina Buccellato remains a partner and serves as a creative consultant.
Fernandez said the historic downtown arts, music and entertainment district is a good fit for Muzart - Creative Arts Studios.
"There are a lot of new businesses opening and momentum in Downtown Hollywood. The area is teeming with creative people of all ages," she added.
Fernandez's goals include a focus on Muzart as a family enrichment center.
"It's not just for the kids but for the parents and entire family," she said. "Basically, if you come here once, you're going to want stay and grow with us."
